What is LancWest Connects?

LancWest Connects enables individuals and organisations to connect through green volunteering within the local community.
For residents, this promotes health and wellbeing, personal growth, and respite from the disruption for the refurbishment. For wider volunteers, we offer a great experience and opportunity to contribute, connect and support the Lancaster West Estate to become a 21st central social housing estate that is carbon-neutral by 2030

Why volunteer with us through corporate volunteering?

Our corporate volunteer days bring organisations together with LWNT staff, delivering practical teamwork which enables a greener and more equitable community.
What are the benefits?
  • Team building: A fantastic way to get outside the office with your colleagues, and enjoy a day of practical work alongside your team.
  • Sustainability awareness: We aim to be carbon neutral by 2030, and are on a mission to transform as many grey spaces across the Lancaster West Estate to green, and includes improves biodiversity, air quality for residents.
  • Community support: Volunteers play a large part in helping keep community projects and spaces across the estate running – a team day enables us to achieve bigger projects and transform spaces for residents to find peace and respite.
  • Enhance the community volunteer scheme: The programme has been resourced through grant funding so far and corporate support helps to enhance the programme. This allows us to find positive ways to engage in the community, improve their health and wellbeing, find activities locally to combat isolation, and improve confidence and readiness for work.
