Green Skills Academy offers free training and hands-on experience to help residents and local businesses build skills for a greener future. From retrofit and renewable energy to gardening and repair, we’re opening up real opportunities in growing industries.
By investing in green skills, we’re supporting local jobs, strengthening our community, and helping Kensington and Chelsea move towards net zero.

Borrow energy-monitoring devices for free and discover how your home really performs.
These tools help you understand energy use, air quality and heat loss so you can improve efficiency and create a healthier, more sustainable home.Available to RBKC residents for up to one month.

Awair Air Quality Monitor

The Awair Air Quality Monitor measures pollutants, humidity and temperature to show the quality of the air in your home, helping you understand and improve your indoor environment.

Smart Wi-Fi Socket

The Smart WiFi Socket connects to your phone and shows how much energy your devices use when plugged in. It also allows you to set schedules to turn devices on or off automatically.

Moisture Meter

The Moisture Meter helps you check for damp in your home. It measures the level of moisture in materials such as walls and floors, helping you identify areas where damp may be present.

Thermal Imaging Camera

The Thermal Imaging Camera shows temperature differences across surfaces in your home. By showing colder areas, it will reveal where heat is escaping and where insulation is needed.

Make & Mend Hub

The Make & Mend Hub is our dedicated Green Skills workshop. A fully upcycled unit designed for practical, hands-on learning.

The space supports multidisciplinary training helping residents build valuable, future-focused skills.
