Keep Lancaster West clean- Clean up after your dog!

As part of our commitment to keeping our estate a pleasant place to live for everyone - we’d like to remind our residents of the importance of cleaning up after your pet whilst walking in our estate grounds.

While many residents are responsible pet owners, we have noticed an increase in instances of dog mess being left in communal ground areas, and this can affect the well-being of all who live here.

Why It’s Important to Clean Up After Your Dog

Health Risks: Dog mess can pose serious health risks, especially to children who may come into contact with it while playing. It can carry bacteria and parasites which can lead to illness.

Respect for Your Neighbours: Leaving dog mess behind is not only inconsiderate, but it can also cause unpleasant smells and make the estate grounds less enjoyable for others.

Legal Requirement: As a pet owner, it is your legal responsibility to clean up after your dog. Failure to do so can result in fixed penalty notices and be considered a breach of your tenancy conditions.

How to Be a Responsible Pet Owner – Bin it!

1. Always Carry Bags: Make sure you always have a supply of dog waste bags with you when walking your pet. They are inexpensive and widely available.

2. Use the Bins Provided: Dispose of your dog’s waste in the bins around the estate. If there isn’t a bin nearby, take it home and dispose of it there – never leave it on the ground.

3. Be Prepared at All Times: Even if your dog only goes for a short walk, always be equipped to clean up after them. If you have friends or family who visit you with their dog, it is your responsibility to ensure they dispose of waste appropriately.

Keeping Lancaster West clean is a community effort. By picking up after your dog, you are helping to ensure that our communal spaces are enjoyable for everyone.

Let’s all do our part to maintain a clean and healthy estate!
