Lancaster West Photo Competition

Announcing the winners of the Lancaster West Photo Competition.

Congratulations to Lancaster West resident Nibedita Gautama, the overall winner in the Lancaster West Photography Competition for the above photo. She was one of six winners in different categories. 

The competition was organised by Lancaster West Neighbourhood Team in partnership with Light Follows Behaviour and The Lancaster West Residents’ Association. The photos were judged by a panel in the six categories below. 

Light and Darkness - David O’Connell

Alongside many great submissions, we were impressed in the way your photograph captured the tower after dark on a foggy night showcasing it in a striking way with silhouette of trees in the foreground in contrast to the architecture behind.

Signs of the Seasons - Eriola Vasilai

Alongside many great submissions, we were impressed in the way the photo brought a smile to all the judges faces immediately. The pink accents throughout bring the photo together in a lovely manner and highlight some top wardrobe choices for spring in LW!

LW Vibes - Miles Watson

Alongside many great submissions, we were impressed in the way your photograph captured movement and activity on the estate. The alternate uses of the walls and composition of the photo were applauded by the judging panel. 

Living Spaces - Andii David

Alongside many great submissions, we were impressed in the way you were able to capture the cat in a moment in time appearing to defy gravity. The judges also applauded the hints of blue in the foreground and background which brought the photo composition together.

Shape and Colour - Rebecca Razza

Alongside many great submissions, we were impressed in the way you balanced the symmetrical and asymmetrical elements in the photograph while also drawing the eye in.

Fond Memories - Eriola Vasilai

Alongside many great submissions, we were impressed in the way you captured a joyous moment that made all the judges smile and reminisce. The photo composition made the snowman jump off the page and we loved finding small details in the photo such as the olive snowman eyes.

Overall Winner - Nibedita Gautama

Alongside many great submissions, we were impressed with in the way your photograph captured the changing of seasons in an unexpected way and also highlighted elements about the estate's condition. The judges truly loved the composition and colour of the photograph.
