Walkways roof engagement event
25 November 2021
In this week’s LancWest Fest recorded at the Walkways event, community gardener Robert talks to Caroline from Karakusevic Carson Architects. Thanks to all the Walkways residents who came along to Lancaster West Neighbourhood Team's pop-up event yesterday to discuss the upcoming roof works for Barandon, Testerton and Hurstway Walk as part of Lancaster West’s estate-wide refurbishment. Residents got the opportunity to talk to KCA, the architects for the block and ask questions about and get feedback on the design elements being put forward. The event was the start of the second phase of the refurbishment: Preferences and choices. There will be more opportunities for residents to give feedback and make choices.

New funding secured for Notting Dale to go net zero!
4 November 2021
We are delighted to announce that Notting Dale ward in Kensington and Chelsea has been selected from more than 20 other London boroughs to secure £1.4million in funding for green projects, as part of the Mayor of London’s Future Neighbourhoods programme. In this week’s LancWest Fest Community Gardener Robert talks to Hannah from Lancaster West Neighbourhood Team’s sustainability team, David O’Connnell and Abbas Dadou from Lancaster West Residents’ Association to talk about the new funding for Notting Dale. The projects delivered over the next two years will be resident-led and help tackle key environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity, and poor air quality, whilst also supporting a local green circular economy with new green jobs and skills. It’s great news for those living in homes managed by Lancaster West Neighbourhood Team as it will move us towards the ambitious goal of becoming a carbon neutral by 2030. Projects include installing green roofs, solar panels, and rain gardens across a number of blocks and replacing gas boilers. New initiatives will be announced over the coming months. This funding will ensure that we put a green recovery at the heart of Grenfell recovery for thousands of residents in Notting Dale.
