Community Engagement Assistant

Imperial is committed to collaborative community engagement and involvement at our White City Campus, where we have created a dedicated community space called The Invention Rooms. 

The objective of the Community Engagement Assistant (Venue and Programmes) is to support the smooth running and delivery of a diverse range of community programmes and activities held at The Invention Rooms and in the local area. 

The post holder is responsible for providing excellent customer service, event, projects and operational support to ensure that our programmes and spaces are as welcoming and inclusive as possible.

Duties include: 
  • Work closely with the Community Engagement Team and other teams to help organise and coordinate various programmes, workshops, events, and activities. 
  • Assist in the logistical planning, setup, and execution of events and activities to ensure their smooth operation. 
  • Provide outstanding customer service by assisting participants, responding to inquiries, and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors.

Head of adult learning 

The Clement James Centre are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and ethos-driven Head of Adult learning to manage, develop and expand the Adult Learning programme, ensuring high quality delivery from the team and best outcomes for learners. 

This post will also sit on the Senior Leadership Team, working collaboratively to being strategic leadership and oversight for the programme, and ensure alignment with the overall vision for The Clement James Centre.

Duties include: 
  • Lead and manage the Adult Learning programme and team. 
  • Partner with leadership on short and long-term program strategy. 
  • Observe and provide feedback to team to ensure high-quality service. 
  • Coordinate OFSTED processes and exam verification.

Participation officer 

The purpose of this role is facilitating meaningful interaction between the Housing Management Division and tenants/residents of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea; boosting resident involvement in home and estate management, enhancing communication via digital platforms, and coordinating the execution of various community projects and events. 

Duties include:
  • Proactively engage with residents. 
  • To use a range of multi-media channels (Instagram, text bursts etc) to increase and improve communications with residents. 
  • To support RAs in the planning and delivery of Annual General Meetings.
  •  Act as the first point of contact for engagement and to provide IT, logistical support and administrative support, to RA. 
  • To increase digital access among residents. 
  • To support the management of the community centres. 
  • To oversee and monitor small-scale grants and funds for resident groups.
  • To identify and make links with community initiatives and projects within the Borough and across London.
